Profile of pediatric out-patients managed by physiotherapists at Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta: a retrospective review

Abstract Background Pediatric physiotherapists help children to achieve their optimal physical development. The present study was aimed evaluate the out-patient pediatric conditions managed by in Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Nigeria (FMCA). Methods included all attended at Unit (outpatient) of FMCA period between beginnings May 20121 end 2022. clinic runs every Tuesdays and Thursdays. All below equals 15 years age were included. Complete clinical, socio-demographic characteristics patients parents manually scrapped from electronic medical records (EMR) hospital. Descriptive statistics used results. Results During this a total 160 presented with different disorders seen. There 100 males (62.5%) 60 females (37.5%). Cerebral palsy which can be classified as neurological disorder most common condition (63.7%). Obstetric brachial injury (OBPI), injection palsy, post-immobilization stiffness, congenital talipes equinivarus, among others during period. males, obstetric injury, palsy. had late presentation for physiotherapy (1–5 years). Only 2 out 11 OBPI came early physiotherapy. is higher risk cerebral primiparous mothers. Conclusions It concluded that are cases having prevalence.
